Rooms#
What are Rooms?#
Rooms are where the game takes place. Rooms are made of Blocks, Things, and Items. They have a background color that can be set. Rooms can be named. Rooms also have a start position for the Player. If the Player falls off the floor, they can either be teleported back to the start position, or they can end the game.
TIP: Make a copy of a Room before you make big changes!
Sometimes you’ll want to do something major to a Room, like add an entire building, or delete a bunch of Blocks. Before you do so, you can make a copy of the Room to keep as a backup. Then, if everything goes badly, you can just switch over to using the backup.
Room Editor#
The Room Editor allows you to edit and switch between the Rooms in your game. To switch to and edit a Room, just click on it from the Rooms tab.
In the list of Rooms, you can always tell where the Player is by looking on the right side of the list. You’ll see a little Player icon next to the Room where the Player starts.
The background color of the Room can have three modes: darker, normal, lighter. You choose the base color, then you can use the icons underneath the colors to either make that color darker or lighter.
TIP: Make start-of-game message by assigning a Room an Action Sequence!
If you add an Action Sequence to a Room, you can make a message appear whenever the game starts. However, if you just use a Say Something Action, that message will appear every time the Player enters that Room. To avoid this, make an Do Actions in a Row Action and make the first Action the Say Something Action, and make the second Action the Do Nothing Action.
